As I'm writing this letter, our youth group is looking forward to our missions trip to Maine, where we'll be doing construction work in people's homes, and we'll be doing a Vacation Bible School for children! Our purpose, as you may already know, is to serve and reflect Christ in all of our work, and that we would be a Spirit-filled and unified team that takes advantage of our privilege to show the love of Christ to others in need. By the time you're reading this letter, we will have already (Lord willing) been to Maine and are back home with many things to share of how the Lord moved in our hearts and lives on this trip.

Our last team meeting before the trip was yesterday, and it was a wonderful time of fun, team building, and fellowship over at Ray and Mary's house. There's nothing like a time of outdoor fellowship and worshipping the Lord under the open sky. It was a wonderful night. We had a great grilled hot dog and burger barbeque as well!

These things lead me to think about what we have to look forward to this summer. Our youth group is going to be meeting as one group (both Jr. and Sr. High combined) on Tuesday nights for eight weeks this summer. Our fellowship will be longer (6pm-9pm) and will include dinner as a part of our fellowship time. We have had a generous response from people from our congregation who will be helping to make the dinners!

Our common meals will include communion, remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us, and our teaching focus will be on God's unfolding story of which we are a part. My heart's desire is that our young people will be able to see their place in this world a little clearer as they consider where they fit in God's plan - His larger story. At the end of the summer, we are inviting parents to come and enjoy a meal cooked for them by their teenagers, with the hope that our connection to parents will become stronger and we'll be able to more effectively support them in their very crucial role in the lives of their teens.

I'm looking forward to how the Lord will use all of the summer's events to unfold His plan to further His kingdom. Please keep the youth ministry of St. Paul's in your prayers, and thank you for your ongoing support of this ministry to our youth.

Grace & Peace from Christ to you, Matt
