10"Be careful. Don’t think these little children are not important. I tell you that these children have angels in heaven. And those angels are always with my Father in heaven.]

12“If a man has 100 sheep, but one of the sheep is lost, what will he do? He will leave the other 99 sheep on the hill and go look for the lost sheep. Right? 13And if he finds the lost sheep, he is happier about that one sheep than about the 99 sheep that were never lost. I can assure you, 14 in the same way your Father in heaven does not want any of these little children to be lost." Matthew 18:10-14

March Madness, the annual NCAA basketball tournament that captures the attention of many throughout this entire month, has begun. Just about every day you can expect to see amazing performances, dazzling plays, last minute buzzer beaters, and of course, the upsets. We love upsets don't we? There's something special about a small school overcoming the odds and shocking the big school powerhouses. They're called Cinderella teams and their victories are something magical.

When we look in the Bible it seems like God is also a huge fan of the underdog. He was always choosing those whom the world thinks are unworthy, forgettable or ill equipped. Israel was the smallest nation, David was the smallest. Moses couldn't speak. The Disciples were a crazy group. No one expected Paul to suffer for Jesus. And even today, when we look at youth culture and the things our children are exposed to it's easy to get discouraged and think that all hope is lost.

Yet God is always working, always searching for that lost sheep. He wants us all to experience His victory. I believe that He's raising up a generation that can overcome the sinful challenges of this world. They need our prayers, however, and our leadership team and parents need your prayers as well. As we celebrate the Cinderella stories of these basketball ball teams, let's not forget the "Cinderellas" that are our youth.

In Christ,
P. Hector
