"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."James 1:5

What's the most useful piece He had to tell me, many times unfortunately, to think first before acting. This simple bit of wisdom has served me well throughout my life and I hope that I've been able to pass it along to others who will be well served by it. I'm sure that if you think hard enough you might be able to put your finger on a wise word you've been able to give someone as well. Wise words are like a guaranteed investment, sure to benefit the ones who take the words to heart.

When it comes to wisdom one would assume we could recognize it's inherent wealth almost as immediately as one would recognize the value of water in the desert. Yet, I get the sense that in our students culture today, there is an overabundance of information and opinions, many appearing wise on the surface. Students hear so many voices telling them the way to real life. They are bombarded by advertisements and messages about what to desire and how to live yet because of those messages incompatibility with God's word a whole generation is threatened to missing God's very best for their lives. We need to pray that the wisdom of this world would be revealed of it's futility.

We need to draw the curtain back and pay attention to the man found there. He's not a wizard but a pretender. Our hope as summer approaches would be that our students would grasp hold of the fear of God because that is the beginning of all wisdom. And that they would find the wisdom of God to be a wellspring of life for them and for future generations. Please pray for our leaders to have the wisdom of God so that we might best know how to minister to the amazing generation.
