Counseling Article – Feb. 2010

Greetings in the name of Jesus! Happy New Year to those I haven't seen. You may have noticed that I have not had an article in the Circuit Rider for a couple of months and wondered where is she? I'm here. As many of you know God has a way of changing our lives and circumstances.

After, seventeen years of working in the "ministry" I am now back in Corporate America. At first it didn't make sense to me. I loved ministering to God's people and children in the counseling realm. The fact is whether we know it or not we are all God's children and because I live my life believing that God knows the plan I can accept where He leads me. There must be someone there who does not yet know him that needs the love of God or someone there is to touch my life.

Also, my son and grandson moved in with me due to unforeseen circumstances in their lives. So, now I have a three year old running (literally) around my house. Even with this situation I can see how God is working my new job and hours to the good. I am now working from 3:30pm to 12am. I still have my time alone in the mornings and they have their time at night. The bottom line is that I am now available for counseling from 11am to 2pm weekdays, Saturdays and after church on Sundays. I am also available by phone. Janice has my cell phone number and you can also leave a message at the office.

I am so grateful that God has given me this opportunity to seek Him, to hear His Spirit leading me in this new environment. I admit it was a culture shock at first. Now I can see that I was getting too complacent and stale in my relationship with Him and others. I am looking forward to new adventures, while still walking out His will for my life. I say all this to say be expecting. He may not lead us where we think, but this we know as long as we keep our eyes on Him we will remain in His will not ours. Donna Ridge

Do not fear for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name and you are Mine! When you pass through the waters I will be with you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched. Nor will the flame burn you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy one of Israel, your Savior." - Isaiah 43:1b-3
