A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

11 COR 5:17-19

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not remembering their sins but forgiving them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."

Sitting in my living room on New Year's Eve I got to thinking about what the Lord has brought me through this past twelve months. My life has completely changed. I began looking for the passage that talks about how God makes everything new through our Lord. I can't remember any year in which this passage has held more truth!

The Lord took me out of the job where I was needed for His work, set up my retirement with speed that still baffles the administrators, and restored my strength giving me more time to study His word and minister to others. In short, He's given me a new third job! Although there are bumps in the road, I have peace knowing that I am where God wants me to be so I can try my best to follow His will. And He continues to give me joy! If we don't have peace or joy it is a sign that we are not acting according to His will.

Christ became a human being to reconcile us to God.

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

Oh Lord, let me use my gifts to bring others to you through the ministry of reconciliation you have given me. Since my walk with you is "under construction" help me navigate the uneven pavement observing the signs of your Word as I am only the passenger. Through prayer, help me to keep you behind the wheel.

In Jesus Name,
Steve B.

Amen
