New St. Paul's Cookbook
For those at St. Paul's long enough to remember, 1980 was the last year we put together a cookbook. The United Methodist Women are in the process of doing just that. We hope to have it ready to go on sale at the Holiday Shoppe. It will be chock full of your favorite recipes, many helpful hints and a short history of the church. It will make a great gift for you, your relatives, friends, and anyone else you need a special gift for. But we can't do it without your help. That help will come in the form of your recipes. How many of you have brought a dish to a covered dish dinner where you were asked for the recipe? What do you bring to Thanksgiving dinner that everyone expects you to bring? That's the one we want in the book.
Beginning on May 25 and going through mid-July, we will be accepting your recipes. Don't be bashful. We hope to have at least 250 recipes in the cookbook so there will be room for all your favorites. There are 8 categories to fill so you will be able to find a place for your signature dish. You are encouraged to submit more than one recipe. The more we get the better the book. We will have recipe collection sheets for you every Sunday through the end of June so stop by the Narthex or outside Norcross Hall and pick some up. Once we have collected all the recipes, entered them to be submitted and finalized the format of the book, production should take about 6 weeks. We should have the books by the end of October.
If you have any questions, please call Carol, Margie or Mary). If you want to e-mail me your recipes, please do so. My address is email@example.com. The recipe collection sheets contain all the instructions regarding wording, abbreviations, categories, etc., so you may want to pick one up for your information. We want to use every recipe submitted to us. However, if we get several versions of the same recipe, we reserve the right to decide which ones to use. But hopefully we won't have that problem. So get busy looking for your favorites which will become all our favorites. We need a lot and we know you have a lot.
