St.Paul's Music Program

St.Paul's new music season will soon begin and we are hoping that many of you will consider joining one of our choirs and/or instrumental groups.  There are always places in our choirs and we encourage participation for your own enjoyment and fellowship as well as to sing or play for the glory of God.  Many exciting things are planned this year for all groups.  If you have been in choirs before or can carry a tune in the shower you should make this a singing or playing season.

The following are the groups offered by St.Paul's Music Department:

1. CHERUBS- 4yrs. to 1^st grade - Rehearse Wed. 4:30-5:30PM.
   This cute group directed by Janet Post sings once a month on the first Sunday of the month as well as all special Sundays. They also put on a musical and go to Nursing Homes to sing.
2. CAROL CHOIR - 2^nd grade through 5^th grade - Rehearsals - Thurs. 7:00 to 7:45PM.
   This choir, led by Judy Propert, sings twice a month on the 2^nd and 4^th Sundays of the month as well as all special Sundays. They also minister at Nursing Homes.
3. CELEBRATION CHOIR- 6^th grade to 12^th grade - Rehearsals- Thurs. 7:00 - 7:45PM.
   This youth choir, directed by Barbara Estelle, sings the 3^rd and 4^th Sundays as well as all special Sundays.
4. CHANCEL CHOIR - 10^th grade to Adult-Rehearsals - Thursdays at 8:00PM.
   Our adult choir sings every Sunday and alternates early and late services except on special Sundays when we sing at both services.  We also minister on holidays and during special church events and do a Christmas and Easter cantata and annual Variety Show.
5. HANDBELL CHOIR - 9^th grade through adult - Rehearsals - Wednesdays at 6:00-7:00PM.
   They play different times throughout the year.  You have to be able to read music.
6. CONCERT BAND - 7th grade to Adult
   This group plays primarily at Christmas. It is made up of all instruments; Brass, Woodwind,  Percussion, and Strings and includes members from St.Paul's as well as the community at large.  We numbered about 40 last year. Smaller groups as well as soloists and duets are used at various times as well.Please call Barbara or the church office for more information or if you are thinking about soloing. Rehearsals will begin in late October and are held Wednesdays at 7:15-8:15 PM.
7. PRAISE TEAM - Our Praise Team leads songs in worship at the second service every Sunday.  We practice most Fridays at 7:00 PM.  Please contact Barbara for more information. We also are in need of people to work the soundboard/system.  Please call if you think you might be able to help.

CHANCEL CHOIR rehearsals will begin SEPTEMBER 9 AT 8:00 PM sharp. All other rehearsals will begin the week of September 13.  Please feel free to join at any time.
