Marriage Moment "Helpful Hint" for April
When you do find time to be together, beware of ruts. If you are going to schedule time to be together, it should be more (at least sometimes!) than both of you crashing on the couch, wordlessly watching TV. In the Song of Solomon 7:13 it says:
The mandrakes give forth their fragrance And over our doors are all choice fruits New as well as old Which I have laid up for you, O my beloved
We are creatures of habit, but boredom can be deadly to a relationship – so snap out of it! Take up a hobby that is new to both of you; learning something new together can be a really good way to strengthen your bond. It can be anything from art to exercise. Take a drawing class or a dance class, go bird watching or mountain biking. As long as it gets you out of your normal context and allows you to spend time together, the positive effect on your marriage will be palpable. |
