New Foutain of Life Letter - Feb 2010 |
|
LETTER FROM NORRIS NEW FOUNTAIN OF LIFE
Ruth and I have decided to give up the construction part of our mission. We will see that members of the Board continue the evangelism part of the mission. The food kitchen will still be supported, and evangelist Elias Patoni will be supplied with bibles to help in starting up new churches throughout Mexico. The funds needed to support these activities is much less than before so we are requesting that New Fountain of Life be removed from the budget, and any special funds. Our monthly donations are, at this time, sufficient to supply the mission. Our feeling is that funds for missions should be used, and we know there are plenty of needy missions.

Marriage Moment (02/14/2010) |
|
Marriage Moment Update
In this month's "Marriage Moment" I challenged married couples to reclaim Valentine's Day, and take the opportunity to recommit to your marriage, to be a better spouse. I challenged couples to reinvest their time and energy to make marriage be the blessing that God intended. My helpful hint for this month is this: if you have not read Gary Chapman's "Five Love Languages" do so. Read it together. Go to: http://www.5lovelanguages.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/5-Love-Languages-Study-Guide.pdf

MARRIAGE MINISTRY
My name is
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
, and God has put it on my heart to begin a marriage-building ministry. I will be writing a piece for the Circuit Rider each month for couples to read and talk about. I will also be putting ideas in the bulletin; could be a book to read, a movie to watch together, a date idea... pick the ones that work for you – or take the challenge to do as many as you can! They will be little things, but by doing these little things, our relationships will get stronger.
I want this ministry to be interactive; I have given my contact info below. If there is a subject you want me to address, let me know. If you have questions, please ask. For questions that are beyond me, I have a licensed counselor who has agreed to work with me to find answers. I am committed to doing whatever I can to help all of us be blessed with strong, loving marriages that strengthen our families, this church and the community we live in... marriages that honor God.

A New Year's Resolution - 2010 |
|
A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION
11 COR 5:17-19
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not remembering their sins but forgiving them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."
Sitting in my living room on New Year's Eve I got to thinking about what the Lord has brought me through this past twelve months. My life has completely changed. I began looking for the passage that talks about how God makes everything new through our Lord. I can't remember any year in which this passage has held more truth!

Communion Offering - December 2009 |
|
December Communion Offering UNITED METHODIST HOMES
The communion offering for December will support the United Methodist Homes.
In 1907, a committee of women appointed by the New Brunswick District Preachers corresponded with pastors and members of the Methodist Episcopal churches of Monmouth County about the importance of establishing a home for the aged. In response to this need, a single home at 63 Clark Avenue, Ocean Grove, was purchased, and it became the first home in the United Methodist Homes system.

United Methodist Men Purpose Statement |
|
PURPOSE STATEMENT - UNITED METHODIST MEN
- GROW - Help each man grow in his knowledge of Christ and assist him in leading of life that is an example to others..
- SERVE- as men we will serve the Lord in our homes, in His church, and then into the world with the gifts the Lord has bestowed on each of us..
- PRAISE - encourage each man to participate in praise and worship. As men we will be an example through our regular attendance and worship, beginning in our home and church..
- SHARE - help each man to share his testimony and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
After several weeks of prayerful consideration, these purpose statements, based on the Word of God are established as the guiding principles for the United Methodist Men's Fellowship at St. Paul's. Each man is joyfully invited to take part in this fellowship and so grow closer in their walk with Christ. Study scripture for the breakfast fellowship will be announced the week before so we can be prepared to better grow in the Lord, and discuss what we've learned by our individual study. We start promptly at 8 am every 3rd Saturday with a working breakfast leaving greater time to study His word. We look forward to seeing you! Any questions or prayer needs please contact Steve B. or Bob S.

Jersey Shore Bahamas Mission Team Fundraiser 2010 |
|
Congratulations! You've Been Flocked!
That's the greeting you'll find attached to the neck of a pink flamingo residing for the day on your lawn along with the rest of his flock. The good-natured "flocking" is a fund-raiser for the Jersey Shore Bahamas Mission Team, which includes St. Paul's own Sean H.
If you would like to share the flock with another "victim," you merely make a donation of $10-$20 to the team. Although removal of the tropical beauties will be done the next day at no charge, your small donation would help the cause.
