On the first Sunday of every month we celebrate Holy Communion at both services. Here at St. Paul´s, we´ll make sure the first face you see when you approach the church has a smile on it. Whether you need childcare for your toddler, or are looking for a place for your teens, a greeter will be nearby to help you get where you need to go. We are concerned with meeting your real life needs and hope you enjoy our upbeat music. We seek to share practical messages that help you deal with real life issues. and we will even give you a handy outline to follow along and take notes, with the Bible passages included. We hope that what you learn on Sunday, you will be able to use during the week.

Open Door Baby Bottle Fundraiser 2012

It is time for Baby Bottles again! They will be distributed to benefit The Open Door, a pregnancy and sexual health resource center. We expect to have them available next Sunday, February 26^th for Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Thank You!

An easy way to help The Open Door as they minister to women and babies.

Just fill the bottles with a check, cash, or coins, and return them to your church on the requested date.

As you will see from the insert inside the bottle, you may list the name and address of a person you wish to honor. The Open Door will send a beautiful card to them showing that you have made a gift for life in their honor.

Lenten Lunch and Devotion Start on February 22nd

LENTEN LUNCHES

Our Lenten Lunches & Devotions will be starting on Wednesday, February 22^nd this year. Lunch will be from 11:45 -12:15PM followed by devotions in the sanctuary. If you can’t make the lunch you are still welcome to attend the Devotions in the Sanctuary starting about 12:20PM each week. If you are interested in providing soup, dessert or crackers for one of the weekly lunches please contact Ruth or sign up in the hallway.

Fiirst Annual Bake Off - March 10th

St. Paul's First Annual Bake-Off
Bakers Needed!

If you love to play with dough and flour and can create yummy goodness in your kitchen, then you are invited to enter your original recipes in our first annual bake-off. The contest is for any dessert item, which includes NO store-bought or box enhanced items. It is open to anyone of any age who attends St. Paul's UMC or St. Paul's Christian school as well as friends and family. There will be a $10 registration fee for each entry. For each recipe entered, bakers will need to submit three of each item (i.e. pies, cakes, batches of brownies or cookies, etc.). One will be for public tasting, one for the judges and one to be auctioned. The original recipe must also be submitted two weeks prior, on February 24th.

Tasters Needed!

If you are not on speaking terms with your oven, that's ok. We also need tasters to come to our bake-off! Tickets will be $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Each taster will be able to sample all of the entries and vote for their favorite for a People's Choice award. We will also have select judges to taste all items and award a Grand Prize! There will be cookbooks for sale with all of the submitted recipes. After the tasting, all of the entries will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. All proceeds will go towards the church utilities and maintenance.

When: Saturday March 10
Times: 1 pm - Drop-off and set up of baked items
2pm - 3pm Tasting, tasting, tasting!
3pm - 4pm Auction of baked items and judges results

Angels Youth Group - March 11th

ANGELS IN MARCH (2nd graders - 5th graders)

The Angels will be attending an 1830's St. Patrick's Day Celebration at Allaire Village in Allaire State Park on Sunday March 11 at 12:30 PM. Admission is free to this event and will include an Irish immigrant skit and a cooking demonstration in one of the houses. In addition the blacksmith shop, general store, and bakery will be open on that day. Touching Tiny Lives needs Sippy Cups

TTL Needs Sippy Cups!!!!

Touching Tiny Lives is in need of Sippy cups. These cups are very important as they are not only used for fluids but for medicine as well, and cannot be found in Lesotho. These are very specific cups and must be new so we will be purchasing them.

In March another medical team will be leaving from Oregon. Our plan is to purchase the Sippy cups and have them shipped to Oregon and then brought over by the medical team, as shipping is very costly.

If you'd like to help the "Sippy Cup Fund", simply put it in your offering envelope marked "Sippy cups", or you can see me after service. We'll be collecting for the next few weeks.

Seeks Supplies for UMCOR Kits

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) supply kits help care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. They also sustain life by providing basic necessities to people who lack access to essential supplies. Your help is needed now by donating supplies for Birthing Kits. At the Northern Shore District Day of Learning, March 10, 2012, we will be offering a UMCOR workshop –“Helping Hands of God”. In this workshop those who attend will be assembling Birthing Kits that will be shipped to an UMCOR Relief Depot and used in the birthing process of babies in far off countries, where there is no availability of the items in these kits.

Supplies/items listed below are needed for each birthing kit that we will assemble together.

Items must be NEW:

--New travel size 2 -3 0z or smaller bar soap
--A roll or large sheets of 4ml plastic to be cut at workshop on District Day of Learning (no shower curtains)
--A box of single edge razor blades (no shaving razors)
--Receiving Blankets 30x30 or 32x32 found in Wal-Mart (no fleece or flannel)
--Box of Ziploc gallon size bags
--Envelope containing $1.00 for shipping cost
--A roll of cotton string.

You can bring the supplies and place in box in the Narthex by Sunday March, 4 or drop off at one of the following locations by March 9:

The GNJAC Conference office building, 1001 Wickapecko Drive, Ocean NJ 07712/ Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

The Lacey United Methodist Church, 203 West Lacey Rd., Forked River NJ 08731/Thursday mornings, 9 am to 12 noon.
