Community Emergency Response Team
The Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) of Brick Township promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of neighborhoods, community organizations, and workplaces in basic response skills. Upon completion of training you will be better prepared to help yourself and your community. These skills can be utilized by the student in the event of a personal emergency or a national disaster and any situation in between. The training takes place in nine separate 2-3 hour sessions as follows:
- DISASTER PREPAREDNESS – Prepares you for the situation.
- FIRE SAFETY – The fundamentals you need to know to survive.
- DISASTER MEDICAL OPERATIONS - Triage and treating life threatening injures
- DISASTER MEDICAL OPERATIONS – Assessment, treatment, and hygiene.
- LIGHT SEARCH AND RESCUE – The fundamentals of operations and sizeup.
- TEAM ORGANIZATION – Organize and deploy safely and efficiently.
- DISASTER PSYCHOLOGY – Caring for yourself, your buddy and victims.
- TERRORISM AND C.E.R.T. – What it is and what to do to help yourself and your country.
- FINAL EXERCISE – Hands on practical simulation.
